The Walking and Running Training Exercise
The lunge is a fantastic exercise for developing strong core muscles. These muscles are used everyday when walking, and are important for our daily activities. Practicing this technique can improve your stability and control while walking, and may reduce the likelihood of injury from postural control.
Toning and Shaping
The lunge is a fantastic exercise to help tone and shape the legs, bum and tummy. Along with squats, the lunge should make up a part of your core group of regular exercises.
Injury
Poor technique can lead to hip pain, knee pain, ankle sprains, lower back ache, upper back pain and pelvic pain. Make sure you get someone to help you assess your technique. Try taking a video of yourself and watch it back to see how you go. You can also get in touch with myself here, or head to F45 Norwood for a free week of classes to be assessed.
