F.A.Q.'s
Can chiropractic help me?
Maybe. To know for sure we need to do a comprehensive
examination including history, physical examination and maybe x-rays.
What is the popping sound?
During a chiropractic adjustment the two opposing
surfaces of the joint a separated. This creates a low pressure inside
the joint. The low pressure allows gas bubbles to form inside the
joint making a popping sound. Just like when you open a champagne
bottle and get all the bubbles and pop!
Once I see a chiropractor I will have to see them for the rest
of my life, won't I?
No. People come to us for all sorts of reasons.
Some want to just feel better. Often this can be achieved within
just a few weeks, sometimes it takes much longer. Others want to
let their bodies heal and become stronger, this will require more
effort and time. Many people at our office choose to have their
spine checked and adjusted regulaly for the rest of their lives
because is it they know that by doing this plus living a healthy
lifesyle will allow them to not only feel great and perform at their
best now but also in the future. How much chiropractic care you
want is always up to you.
Do adjustments cause my joints to wear out or cause athritis?
No. Adjustments actually remove the problem that
causes athritis. That is, stiff and misalinged joints, or subluxations.
Adjustments are only used to correct subluxations. In compensation
to subluxations the adjacent joints may move too much and become
unstable. Although it is very easy to get these joints to crack,
and get some hort-term relief, doing this only creates more instability
and aggravates the problem. This is one reason that a thorough examination
is required.
Is chiropractic safe?
Yes. In the words of the Royal New Zealand Commission
of Inquiry on Chiropractic, chiropractic is "remarkably safe."

Will the chiropractor use any thing else other than adjustments
to help me?
We use a variety of techniques to help you reach
your health goals. We also need to work on the supporting muscles
and conective tissues to allow you body to heal more completely.
This may involve massage, stretching, and exercises. We also provide
advise on posture and biomechanics to help you avoid injuries in
the future.
