Today is International Women’s Day, with this years theme being Be Bold For Change! What a great statement of intent for women going forth into 2017. Many of the female Chiropractors I have come to respect have been bold, and many female patients I have admired have made bold changes to their health. So in today’s blog I am going to talk about Chiropractic and Women. Lets discuss some bold changes women can make to improve their health, and how Chiropractic can fit into your health mix. International Women’s Day, Be Bold For Change with Chiropractic!
You are never too young or too old to make a change. I often here “It’s too late for me now”, or, “I’m too old for it to make a difference”. Well, this is absolute nonsense. Your body is a complex and beautiful thing, and can respond very quickly to simple changes. Something as simple as going for a quick paced walk for 10-15 minutes per day could will change your body inside and out dramatically. Not only will this get your heart pumping, but it will strengthen your gluteal muscles and can help improve your mood.
Chiropractic and Women: If your feeling stiff, a Chiropractor could help you with your flexibility. If your back pain is preventing you from moving and you’ve tried everything else, then try Chiropractic.
Being bold doesn’t mean making dramatic decisions or jumping head first into something without thinking it over. One can be bold just by taking the first step toward change. Writing a list of things you want to change with your health is a great start. Write down what you would like to be able to do, or start doing, or have more time for.
Chiropractic and Women: Seeing a Chiropractor might be a bold move for you. You might be fearful or scared. Your first step then might be to call and speak with the Chiropractor on the phone. At Parade Chiropractic, our first appointment is all about gathering the information. We aim to be thorough, and listen to your concerns. But we don’t rush into treatment on the first visit. We slow the process down, to help you understand what is going on, and how Chiropractic could help. Only once we are both happy, do we begin with care.
Being bold might mean becoming a mother for the first time. Pregnancy can be exciting and sometimes scary, but having a plan makes all the difference. How are you going to look after your body over those 9 months? What birthing support will you want. Who do you seek for advice? There are many people that can support you through your pregnancy, including your partner, family and friends.
Chiropractic and Women: As a Chiropractor, we aim to help you manage your pregnancy. As the weight of the baby increases, so does the weight on your pelvis and low back. Your ligaments start to relax too, in preparation for the birth. Pelvic and low back discomfort are quite common for pregnant mums, but it does not have to be. Chiropractor Dr. Wesley Trowse has attended seminars that detail different Chiropractic techniques that can help women during pregnancy. Special cushions can be used to allow the mum to be, to lie face down, and instrument adjusting can be used for a more gentler approach.
The one thing we know is that change is inevitable. We can either take an active role in making great changes, bold changes to our life, or we can let it happen al by itself and react to the outcome. I know what I would rather do.
